Privacy statement

This is the privacy statement of Hamer van Hussen Groenendijk. In this privacy statement we inform you about the way in which we handle your data.

At Hamer van Hussen Groenendijk, safety is paramount. We therefore also want to handle your personal data securely. We only process personal data if this is permitted on the basis of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Personal data
Personal data is all information with which a natural person (the data subject) can be identified or is identifiable. The personal data that we may process about you (i.e. from receiving and storing to modifying, forwarding and deleting) include:
  • basic contact details (name/address etc)
  • additional personal data, such as proof of identity, date of birth, nationality
  • financial information, such as your bank account number
  • job, education and career details
  • any other personal data in connection with the survey (such as ownership and license plate of vehicles, data of counterparties).

Collection of personal data
In most cases, we obtain your personal data from your insurer or your insurance broker, for example if these parties instructs us to carry out survey, if you apply for a job with us, if give us your business card or from information we receive during (telephone) conversations. and email contact with you. In addition, we can also obtain your personal data in other ways, for example during survey by means of interviews, from a counterparty or from third parties in the context of a case that we handle, via (public) registers (such as the Trade Register of the Chamber of Commerce) or from public sources and websites.

Reason for use of personal data
Service
We only process that data that is necessary for the preparation, execution and completion of the relevant assignment. The personal data collected by us is used for the following purposes:
  • for corresponding with you about content of a survey assignment that we are handling
  • for passing on these on to our clients (insurers, brokers or insured parties), enabling them (if applicable) to take care of financial settlement
  • conducting informational correspondence by telephone, e-mail or post

Job applications
In order to be able to process your application for current vacancies, we receive your personal data. We will keep the data that you share with us by e-mail or by post for a maximum of four weeks after the application procedure has ended. If we want to contact you again in the future for a vacancy, we will ask for permission to store your personal data for longer. That will be a maximum of one year.
Basis of data processing
We may only process your personal data if there is a legal basis to do so. We process your personal data because this is necessary for the execution of survey assignments given to us. The above processing takes place on the basis of one of the following legal grounds from the GDPR:
  • for the execution of an agreement
  • due to a legal obligation
  • with your permission
  • because of a legitimate interest

Sharing personal data
It may be necessary for us to share your personal data with third parties. In principle, we only provide your personal data to our clients if this is necessary to be able to carry out our survey assignment or if a legal obligation dictates us to do so.

Storage period
We will not store data longer than necessary for the purpose for which they were collected. The personal data is appropriately secured by a combination of technical and organizational measures.

Rights
You can view the personal data that we process about you. You have the right to have your personal data changed or even deleted if the data is not (any longer) correct, or if the processing is not (no longer) justified. In certain circumstances you can also restrict processing, request us to transfer your data or object to the data processing. We will assess whether we can comply with your request on the basis of the law. You also have the right to submit a complaint to the supervisory authority (the Dutch Data Protection Authority).

We may not be able to meet your request. For example, because the processing of certain personal data is required to comply with our legal obligations and/or professional requirements or because of other exceptions, such as the rights and liberties of third parties or the interest to be able to conduct legal proceedings. If we are unable to comply with a particular request, we will of course inform you of this with reasons.
