Our company provides marine cargo surveys and expertise for edible oils, mineral oils, biofuels and chemicals. We frequently deal with contamination and quality/condition issues, as well as oil loss investigations on tankers, liquid storage terminals and refineries.

Oils and liquid chemicals are traded on the basis of their contractual product specifications, which can be quite narrow. Failure to meet these specifications for any reason renders the product 'out of specification' and may require an investigation.

Damage may be caused by external sources during transport or storage, or may be inherent in the product. Proper investigation is required to determine the cause of the damage. To mitigate damage we can advise on filtering, refining, reconditioning and blending.

Many oils and chemicals have a second, third or even fourth use. Our team has extensive knowledge of salvage buyers and off-grade traders, and we maintain close relationships with relevant professional bodies, laboratories, inspectors and research institutes. Most of our surveyors are members of Club Oils & Fats.
